SkyePoint Decisions Joins Honor Flight to Welcome Veterans

On May 12th, SkyePoint Decisions teamed up with the charity Honor Flight Network at Dulles International Airport to greet and welcome a flight full of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans as they landed in DC.  Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices.  On this day, they had transported these heroes all the way from Portland, Oregon here to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their respective memorials.

Here are two of our employees, Kristen and Jeri, along with a couple of the Honor Flight volunteers, waiting for the flight to arrive!

The event proved to be an emotional moment for both us and for the veterans.  Many hugs were given, handshakes were exchanged, and tears were shed as we thanked our veterans for their service to our country.  We felt both privileged and honored to be there to greet them.  Many of the veterans were elderly and in wheelchairs and were taken off-guard at the outpouring of love and support they received coming off the plane.

Overall, it was a heartwarming event and we were the ones feeling honored having been there to witness it.  We encourage everyone to learn more about Honor Flight and how you too can support and get involved in this wonderful charity.  Learn more about their mission at www.honorflight.org. And click here to view a video about The Honor Flight Network.
